Autumn has officially made its entrance and we are looking back on a beautiful Spanish summer. It was a warm and busy summer. But no time to sit still, because yacht refit season has started!
Yachts are our passion, we love to take care of them. That’s why we do what we do on a daily basis: repairing, creating, cleaning, painting, …making sure your precious yacht stays as good as new.
Editor’s Note: Since the last refit season Berthon Spain have moved into a state-of-the-art facility in Son Oms which has enhanced our capability in offering a very wide range of services, as well as giving us the room to provide storage for yachts of up to 50 feet.
Our service team continue to service engines and generators, outboard motors, air conditioning and RIBS.
They are also busy with engine installations, yacht painting, rig painting, teak deck replacement, rigging works, yacht guardiennage and valeting, refrigeration works, air conditioning replacement, gel coat repairs, plumbing of both fresh water, grey water and black water systems; as well as all manner of fabrication works.
At Berthon Spain we are passionate about offering a top tier service and we are delighted to be welcoming so many repeat clients back autumn/winter 2021.
Pleasingly, we are also working with a number of clients using Berthon Spain for the first time, who are taking advantage of our storage facility where we are storing tenders, smaller motorboats and chase boats in a dry, safe environment. Once with us, we lavish them with tender loving care and make sure they go back to their owners or crew in tip top condition.
If we can help with any refits or projects this autumn/winter please get in touch with Andrew Fairbrass, email@example.com.
Refitting a boat is like bringing a classic car back to it’s former glory but in a boats case you often have many more options on which to decide. New paint job, new decks, new sails, new interior, new engines….the list is endless and if you have decided you want to invest the money then it can be a lot of fun doing the work.
We are then onto an Oyster 55 where both engine and generator will be replaced, the galley completely refitted and the interior all re-varnished.
It’s pretty much full on for us until July 2019 with boat after boat booked in. These projects are always extremely rewarding as we all enjoy seeing boats be given a new lease of life. I always involve our clients as much as possible during the process as seeing their boat improve step by step can be as enjoyable as seeing the finished product.
We are just coming to the end of refitting a 17m Wally tender where the engines have been removed completely rebuilt and reinstalled, the engine room repainted and refitted, the whole boat has been re-wired, two new heads and showers, a brand new engine bay soft hatch which will allow for easier access to the engines for service and a new navigation and AV system.

We look under every bilge panel, we move every sea-cock, we run every pump and engine.
In the winter months each yacht is gone through in even more detail, to check if everything is being kept in line with manufacturer recommendations.
